when should I apply?
there is no official deadline for registering for a trip. however, we strongly suggest that you sign-up at least 2 months prior to the trip you wish to go on. we may accept applications later than this depending on openings and whether or not we can secure travel arrangements.

how will I know you received my application?
you should receive an email within 24-48 hours of applying, confirming that we have received your application. if you do not receive this email, please contact katie emrich at kemrich@servintl.org or 770.516.1108

am I committed to the trip by submitting an application? when am I officially committed?
please note that filling out a registration form does not guarantee you a spot on a mission trip. serv ministries reserves the right to review your application and extend an invitation to participate on one of our trips. after the teams are selected your team leader will contact you and confirm your commitment to the trip. if you are unable to go on the trip and your travel arrangements have already been made, you are responsible to pay for your plane ticket.

where do I get the money to go on a trip?
you and your team members are responsible for collecting the necessary funds for your trip. if you desire to raise support for your trip, we recommend that you write letters to friends and family sharing the goal of the trip and the financial requirements to make your trip happen. We have example "support letters" to help guide you through this process. many people don't have the time or ability to go on a short-term mission trip but would love to be involved in some way and can help support you financially.

what if I don't have a passport?
apply now for a passport if you don't have one:

as soon as you receive your passport number email us at kemrich@servint.org so that we can update your application with that information. you will also need to make a copy of your passport application and/or passport and give it to your team leader at the first team meeting. due to the new rules for international airline travel, we are required to capture and send the expiration date of passport for booking travel, so we will need that information as soon as possible.
